Pain relief & rehab

Targeted session $125

The purpose of a Targeted Session is to address one area or complaint, such as neck pain from sleeping in an awkward position. Targeted sessions are approximately 30 minutes.

Expanded session $175

With the Expanded Session our goal is to address more than one area that needs focus or if the condition is more complex than just a single muscle group, such as a shoulder impingement that is causing tingling in the hand and fingers. There are other structures that must be addressed in order to treat the complaint. Expanded Sessions last approximately 60 minutes.

Relaxation & tension relief

Massage oil or cream is used with smooth, gliding strokes. Swedish massage uses firm but gentle pressure to promote relaxation, ease muscle tension and create other health benefits. It is a classic massage that will ease your stress and allow you to slip into a calm state of relaxation.

30 minute massage $75

60 minute massage $125

Daniel Gonzalez

Massage therapist

I have spent a lifetime serving others. While running a successful web development business, I experienced a life changing event that brought me to a deeper understanding regarding the importance of touch and the profound difference massage and other forms of bodywork can make; peace of mind and body. That understanding lead me to change the direction of my life completely and devote myself to studying massage and other forms of bodywork.

After graduating from the Kali Institute for Massage & Somatic Therapies in 2011, I have worked in various Spas and clinics including Breathe Aroma Therapy Spa in Ojai CA and Spa Del Mar at Fess Parker’s Doubletree Resort in Santa Barbara CA. With my understanding of business and therapeutic bodywork, I now provide a massage & bodywork service specializing in migraine and headache relief to individuals in need in the Santa Barbara area.

I believe that receiving consistent massage therapy creates the opportunity for a more balanced life. I appreciate the importance in nurturing ourselves to sustain balanced well-being and feel blessed to be a part of the process for others.

Daniel is clearly very knowledgeable and capable in his field. He is also open minded in defining the problems, and he readily seeks input from other health care professionals, as needed. His treatment has after four sessions reduced my sciatic nerve problem significantly, and I am confident that he eventually can eliminate it.

I highly recommend Daniel as a massage therapist. He really understands the body. His is able to figure out what is causing the tightness and pain. I have had neck and low back aches and after having Daniel work on me, the pain is gone and I feel so much better. Getting a massage from Daniel is, in my opinion, a great way to prevent injury too. I think it is money well spent! He is extremely professional, makes you feel relaxed and extremely knowledgeable.

This was a really great experience. Daniel took the time to listen to what all the issues were, thoroughly analyzed what areas and muscles were involved and throughout the session he clearly focused on just the right points. The result was relaxation of tight knots and overall quite effective! He genuinely cares and carefully works to help you with what you need. I highly recommend him and his work to anyone in need of some care.

I have been seeing Daniel now for about 2 years and I have to say, each massage is just as good, if not better than the last. I am never disappointed and I always leave feeling 10 times better.
I am also a trained massage therapist as well, so for me, I can only go to someone that really knows the anatomy of the body and actions of the muscles to properly address my many issues. I have horrible chronic neck problems, a place of the body that not many know how to really get into or are afraid to.

Frequently Asked Questions

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE
It is best not to eat a heavy meal just before a massage. In addition, any medication that alters your sensory awareness should be avoided if possible, so that you can give clear feedback during your session. This includes aspirin or other pain relievers. And, of course, it is never appropriate to arrive at a session under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
WHAT DO I WEAR DURING A SESSION
Depending on the primary technique, you may or may not need to undress. For a full body massage, most people undress completely. However, you may choose to wear underwear. You will be given privacy to undress, and you will be covered with a sheet and blanket at all times except the area being worked on.
WHAT DO I DO DURING A SESSION
Make yourself comfortable. You will occasionally need to adjust your position during the session. You will be asked to move what is needed. Otherwise, change your position anytime to make yourself more comfortable. Many people close their eyes and relax completely during a session; others prefer to talk. It’s up to you. It is your massage, and whatever feels natural to you is the best way to relax. Do not hesitate to ask questions at any time.
HOW WILL I FEEL AFTER A SESSION
Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity. After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity which can last for days. Since toxins are released from your soft tissues, it is recommended you drink plenty of water following your session.
A NOTE ON PRESSURE
Studies show “too deep or too light” is the most common complaint in the massage and bodywork industry. I will make every effort to make sure the pressure is just right. During the session we may use a 0-10 pain scale (zero = no pain, 10 = severe pain). The “sweet spot” is in the range of 5 to 7 in order to provide the greatest therapeutic benefits. I do encourage you to speak up at any time and provide feedback. I am here to provide the best and most effective massage possible for you.
WHEN DO I PAY?
For clients booking for themselves, payment is due after the massage. We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard American Express and Discover.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If for some reason you are not feeling well or anticipate a potential missed appointment please contact us. In our effort to be effective and fair to all clients, 24-hour advance notice is required when canceling an appointment. If you neglect to give us 24 hours advance notice you may be charged $50.00 for your first missed time or full amount of your appointment on your second missed time.

If you do not show and you do not call, you will be charged full price.

Late Arrivals
If you arrive late, your session may or will be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the full session.
