Is Massage safe?
Massage is health promoting in most situations. If you have special medical considerations, please discuss them before your session.
DOES MASSAGE HURT?
Swedish massage is performed to relax and soothe tired or imitated muscles. If you have areas of high tension, you may experience a “good hurt” as the tension is released. It is very important to communicate your preference for gentle or deeper pressure and if anything feels uncomfortable or inappropriate during your session.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR THE SESSION?
It is best not to eat a heavy meal just before a massage. In addition, any medication that alters your sensory awareness should be avoided if possible, so that you can give clear feedback during your session. This includes asprin or other pain relievers. And, of course, it is never appropriate to arrive at a session under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
WHAT DO I WEAR DURING A MASSAGE?
Depending on the primary technique, you may or may not need to undress. For a full body massage, most people undress completely. However, you may choose to wear underwear. You will be given privacy to undress, and you will be covered with a sheet and blanket at all times except the area being worked on.
WHAT DO I DO DURNING A MASSAGE?
Make yourself comfortable. You will occasionally need to adjust your position during the session. You will be asked to move what is needed. Otherwise, change your position anytime to make yourself more comfortable. Many people close their eyes and relax completely during a session; others prefer to talk. It’s up to you. It is your massage, and whatever feels natural to you is the best way to relax. Do not hesitate to ask questions at any time.
HOW WILL I FEEL AFTER A MASSAGE?
Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity. After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity which can last for days. Since toxins are released from your soft tissues during a massage, it is recommended you drink plenty of water following your massage.
A NOTE ON PRESSURE
Studies show “too deep or too light” is the most common complaint in the massage industry. We will make every effort to make sure the pressure is just right. Our therapists will check in with you a couple of times in the beginning of the massage to determine if the pressure they are using is correct. After the therapist has a good idea on the type of pressure you prefer, they will allow you to zone out, relax, and enjoy the massage. However, we do encourage you to speak up at any time and provide feedback to our therapists. We are here to provide the best and most effective massage possible for you.
WHEN DO I PAY?
For clients booking for themselves, payment is due after the massage. A deposit of 50% is required to book parties of 3 or more. The balance is due after the services have been rendered. We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard American Express and Discover.
CANCELLATION POLICY
We all agree – time is very important. Please contact me at least 24 hours to cancel or change your appointment. Missed appointments will incur a fee equal to 50% of the treatment fee.
For advanced bookings (special events and corporate on-site bookings), I require at least 24 hours notice of cancellation in order to avoid forfeiting the 50% deposit.

What Types of Massage Are Offered?
The goal is to provide a session that your body will best respond to. Some bodies respond best to stretching and some to deeper work. Others prefer a lighter touch. It is my experience that the majority of people respond best to a range of techniques. With that being said, a complete Shiatsu protocol is not offered for example, but certain Shiatsu techniques may be used to help release a specific area.

A combination of the following modalities are used for your session where appropriate.
We will always tailor a session for you based on your goals, desires and preferences. If at any time during a session you would like to focus on a particular area or change your mind in any way, that’s always okay. It’s your time. |
